Village Campsite 261

Village Campsite South West 29

Campsites 231, 232, 261 and 262 share a power post inside the fence with 1 x 110 – 20 amp, 4 x 110 – 30 amp, and 1 x 220 – 50 amp receptacles.

**Note:  We are now fully closed to all campers and visitors for 2020.

Camping is available from Opening Day (in May) typically into October (weather permitting).  After the Labor Day closing of our main village and prior to camping shutdown, please utilize our self-check-in station located just inside our gate before reaching our gift shop.  Pick up a packet there for instructions and information.

We have over 300 sites with electricity, two shower houses and an RV dump station on the grounds. Free limited-area Wifi access for campers (near the gift shop).

Pets are welcome while camping at Prairie Village but must be on a leash and kept under control at all times.  Pets (except service animals) are not allowed in any buildings.  Please pick up after them.  All appropriate immunizations must be current and documented.

Fireworks of any kind are prohibited on Prairie Village property. Drone flying is prohibited except by special permission.

Other than during the Steam Threshing Jamboree, camping reservations are not required but are highly encouraged. We will begin taking regular season camping reservations for the 2021 season on Monday, April 5, 2021. When arriving during operating hours, stop in at the gift shop to register and pay for camping. For after-hours arrival, we maintain a convenient self-check in station located near the gift shop. For camping information or reservations, call 605-256-3644 or e-mail   Click for Camping Form

Regular season camping fees:
-Electrical sites $21 (including tax) nightly.
-Non-electrical sites (dry lot) $17 (including tax) nightly.
Paid camping fees include free admission to Prairie Village, except for special events where gate fees are in effect. Unoccupied camping units may be left in sites for a fee of $10.00 per day only with Village staff approval, and for a maximum of two weeks. 50 amp sites and priority sites are not eligible. (Jamboree week see separate rules).

[*2020 Bull Ride canceled] – Camping the night of the June 5 Bull Ride costs $24.00 additional, even if not attending the event, and covers the Bull Ride gate fee for two adults. If more than two persons are with the camping party, additional admission charges will apply. The $24.00 does not apply if you have a Prairie Village season pass or if Bull Ride admission is paid at the event gate. The $35 season pass is good for admittance to this event and many others including the entire August 27-30 Jamboree. Get season passes here.

Jamboree campers:
All electrical camp sites for the 58th Annual Steam Threshing Jamboree (August 26-29, 2021) have been reserved, but you may contact us to be placed on a standby list. We accommodate all additional campers if they desire to camp without electricity (dry lot). No reservations are required for the dry lot area, and generators are welcome in that area only. Upon arrival at the Jamboree vehicle gate, dry lot campers will be checked in and directed to a non-electrical camping area.

Jamboree camping is now sold as a single package, regardless how many nights you wish to stay. Paid and confirmed Jamboree campers may move their campers to the grounds (and may occupy them) any time beginning at 8:00 am Saturday, August 21, 2021 (again, dry lot campers need not reserve or pay prior to arriving at the gate beginning Aug 21). All campers must be removed no later than 9:00 pm Monday, August 30, 2021. If you wish to bring your camper prior to August 21, the regular season camping rates will apply for each day prior to August 21 the camper is on site. For electrical campers, this will only be granted if approved in advance by camping reservation staff and confirmed that the site isn’t already reserved by the general public. Electrical or dry lot campers moved in prior to the 21st without payment and approval may be removed from the site and that individual may not be offered future Jamboree camping.
