We certainly have had a positive response to the Buddy Holly and Beyond Review that will be at the opera house this Saturday night. The 7:00 pm concert has been sold out and as a result we will have a second concert starting at 9:00 pm.
Tickets are $25 and can be obtained by calling the PV office at 256-3644 to purchase with a Visa or Mastercard, and they are available at the gift shop. They can also be purchased at the door prior to the 9:00 pm show. Bev Mader is the event coordinator for what promises to be an outstanding concert and she has tickets also, phone 480-2633. Prairie Village season passes are not accepted for admission to this very special event.
The Buddy Holly and Beyond Review is a tribute to the music of the 50s and 60s and is performed by Johnny Rogers and his band from Chicago. It will be the music of Buddy Holly, Elvis, Ritchie Valens, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and other music legends. Johnny Rogers has played for four US presidents and in 2009 and 2010 was nominated as the best show in Branson.
The 21st Annual Madison Car Show will be here at the village this Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for car, pickup and motorcycle owners to show those special vehicles, and for the public to see the many nicely preserved and restored classics of yesteryear. Pre-registration of show vehicles is $10, or $15 at the event and it includes two admission passes. Complete details and the registration form is on our website at prairievillage.org/madison-car-show/, or at the gift shop.
The village cook shack will be open for lunch at the Car Show and the train will run at 3:00. It will be back at the depot in time for the 3:30 Car Show awards presentations. General public admission is $5.00 for age 13 and over, 12 and under free.
