We look forward to being part of the Discovery Day activities on Saturday as there will be free admission to Prairie Village from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The train runs at 2:00 and tickets can be purchased at the gift shop. The carousel will operate on the hour up until 4:00 pm.
It’s only a week now until the Johnny Rogers Country Legends concert on Friday, July 31st and the Johnny Rogers History of Rock and Roll concert on Saturday, August 1st . It was a sell-out crowd last year when he performed his Buddy Holly and Beyond concert. Johnny Rogers has performed for four US presidents and has been voted as one of the top shows in Branson.
We have sold out the several rows of reserved seat tickets for both of the Johnny Rogers concerts and we expect the sale of the general seating tickets ($20) to go at a strong pace this next week. Tickets can be purchased by mail (Prairie Village, PO Box 256, Madison, SD 57042), at the gift shop, or by phone for credit card purchases by contacting Bev Mader at 480-2633 or the gift shop at 256-3644.
The 22nd Annual Madison Car Show is also this next weekend on Sunday, Aug. 2nd from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a great opportunity for car, pickup and motorcycle owners to show those special vehicles, and for the public to see the many nicely preserved and restored classics of yesteryear. Pre-registration of show vehicles is $10, or $15 at the event. Complete details and the registration form is on our website at prairievillage.org/madison-car-show, and at the gift shop.
We anticipate the inaugural use of our new public address system at the Car Show. Four stadium quality speakers have been mounted on the top of the opera house which will provide for directional control of the greatly increased sound volume.
