Stan Rauch, Manager
This Saturday is campground movie night which is free to all who would like to attend. The movie “Herbie And The Love Bug” will be shown at 7:30 in the opera house. Popcorn and snacks will be available.
There will be a lot of work taking place on various projects this weekend at the village. These vary from electrical lines being put in, trenching for an internet cable to go from the office to the gift shop, and railroad track enhancement. Due to the extensive and necessary track work to be accomplished, the usual 2:00 p.m. Saturday train will not run this weekend.
We are working towards the goal of establishing internet capability for campers to make camping reservations and also to pay online. Hopefully we will make good strides in that direction and have the system in place for next year’s camping season.
It’s just two weeks until we will be having an extremely busy weekend as the Johnny Rogers Country Legends concert is on Friday, July 31, the Johnny Rogers History of Rock and Roll concert on Saturday, August 1, and the 22nd Annual Madison Car Show on Sunday, August 2nd.
We are getting very close to selling out the several rows of reserved seat tickets ($25) for both of the Johnny Rogers concerts. We expect the sale of the general seating tickets ($20) to move briskly in the next two weeks and that we will have a sell-out crowd on hand for both performances. Tickets can be purchased by mail (Prairie Village, PO Box 256, Madison, SD 57042), at the gift shop, or by phone for credit card purchases by contacting Bev Mader at 480-2633 or the gift shop at 256-3644.
The Car Show is a great opportunity for car, pickup and motorcycle owners to show those special vehicles, and for the public to see the many nicely preserved and restored classics of yesteryear. Pre-registration of show vehicles is $10, or $15 at the event. Complete details and the registration form is on our website at prairievillage.org/madison-car-show, and at the gift shop.
