We continue to have a lot of activity at the village in what is proving to be an exceptionally busy season.

Railroad Days is coming up on July 11 & 12 and we will once again be conducting our pizza train which will depart the depot at 6:00 pm on Saturday the 11th. This popular family event, serving Pizza Ranch pizza, is $12 for adults and $7 for age 12 and under. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Prairie Village office at 256-3644.

Last year the Johnny Rogers concert in the opera house was an immensely entertaining event. From Chicago, Johnny has performed for four US presidents and has been voted as one of the best shows in Branson. We are pleased and excited to have him back again this year in the opera house to perform his Country Legends concert on Friday, July 31 and his History of Rock & Roll concert on Saturday, August 1.

We have already sold a goodly number of tickets for each of these two concerts. Tickets are available through the mail (Prairie Village, PO Box 256, Madison, SD 57042) and at the Prairie Village gift shop. The 132 reserved seat tickets in the first seven rows are $25 and general seating tickets are $20. If further information is desired or to purchase tickets by credit card, contact Bev Mader at 605-480-2633. For details on these two exciting concerts visit our website at prairievillage.org/events.

As noted previously, the Montongator Joe’s Country Music Festival that was originally scheduled to be at the village June 26-28 was cancelled in early May by the producer Joe Grinsteiner. It was a privately conducted event and we rented the grounds to him. Please direct any inquiries to the festival producer at 866-245-2702 or through the website bigtimecountry.com. Due to the cancellation of this event, the Prairie Village campground will be fully open for public camping this weekend.
