With the much anticipated 50th Anniversary Jamboree looming, we are increasingly busy planning for the many aspects involved with it. We know that many of our campers will be coming earlier that normal this year, which is good, as the sooner the campers get settled in the better it is for everyone. Due to the anticipated earlier than usual arrivals, we are looking for an individual to help staff the main vehicle gate during the period of Saturday, August 18th to Wednesday the 22nd. This is a paid position and cash register experience is desired.

Another paid position for which we are seeking a reliable individual is that of an attendant for the women”s restrooms during the Jamboree. If interested in either of these two positions please contact me at the office at 256-3644 or my cell 860-8887.

In case you ever wondered who all those fine folks are that staff the gates during the Jamboree, they are members of organizations such as the Madison Band Parents, Madison Christian School, Our Saviour LYF, Dakota Disciples, and the SD Jaycees. These groups have been with us for years and it”s a mutually beneficial arrangement as it”s a good fundraiser for them and we receive quality help at the gates.

The foundation work is under way in preparation for the arrival of an old grainery from the Nunda area. This will be an excellent addition to our presentation of historical agricultural by way of our authentic buildings and farm machinery of many years ago.
