We had an excellent Northern Bull Riding Tour last Friday evening. The good weather certainly contributed to the success of it as a large crowd turned out to enjoy lots of bull riding excitement. We are already looking forward to having the event again next year on June 7.
This Saturday the Madison Area Arts Council’s White Night Festval will be here at the village. The event is free and open to the public. Various artists will be working throughout the grounds and three bands will be performing in the opera house starting at 8:00 p.m. We are pleased to the have the White Night Festival back again this year.
The 5th annual Motongator Joe’s Country Music Festival is coming right up this next Friday through Sunday. For the schedule and other information you can go to bigtimecountry.com or call 866-245-2702. We rent the village grounds to the music festival organizers but our normal operations will be maintained during the event although access to the village will be the gate admission to the festival. Our gift shop and the historic buildings will be open during our regular hours, the cook shack will be serving food, and the train will run at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and at 2:00 on Sunday. Because the Motongator Joe’s Country Music Festival is an independently conducted event, season passes are not accepted. Any monetary investing in the country music festival is solely with the organizers, with no connection to Prairie Village.
We are having a good camping season as more and more people are discovering what we have here at the village, likely as the result of our continued promotion of it. Other than during the Jamboree, we always have plenty of spots available due to having 234 electrical camp sites on the grounds.
With this Sunday being Father’s Day, the train will run at 2:00 p.m. and all fathers ride free. Treat dad by bringing him out to the village on Sunday.
