The third annual Madison Area Arts Council White Night Festival is nearly here. Gates at Historic Priaire Village open for the festival at 10 a.m. on June 16.

The event is free and open to the public. Three bands will play in the Lawrence Welk Opera House. Guitarist Jim Groth will open the night at 8 p.m. Madison native and singer/songwriter Thomas Hentges will perform as Burlap Wolf King at 9:30 p.m. Regional band Wumpus will take the state at 11 p.m.

Plein-air artists are encouraged to work throughout the Prairie Village grounds during White Night. There will be a wet-show and sale at 6 p.m. for the participating artists. Festival train rides will depart from the Wentworth depot at 2 and 7 p.m.

Food will be available from the Ladies Auxiliary and coolers are allowed. Campsites can be reserved through Prairie Village by calling 256-3644.
