Camping is available from April through early October at Prairie Village (weather permitting).
We have over 300 sites with electricity, two shower houses and an RV dump station on the grounds. Free Wifi access for campers (best signal just north of the carousel).
Pets are welcome while camping at Prairie Village but must be on a leash and kept under control at all times. All appropriate immunizations must be current and documented.
Other than holiday weekends and the Steam Threshing Jamboree, reservations are not normally required due to our large number of camp sites. However, if you would like a specific site, or if you would like to camp adjacent to other group camping units, let us know and we will reserve sites for you. We will begin taking camping reservations for the 2017 season on Monday, April 3. When arriving during operating hours, stop in at the gift shop to register and pay for camping. Regular season camping fees:
-Electrical sites $21 (including tax) nightly.
-Non-electrical sites (dry lot) $17 (including tax) nightly.
Paid camping fees include free admission to Prairie Village, except for special events where gate fees are in effect. Unoccupied camping units may be left in sites for a fee of $10.00 per day only with Village staff approval, and for a maximum of two weeks. 50 amp sites and priority sites are not eligible. This restriction does not apply to the week prior to the Jamboree as we encourage bringing campers early.
Camping the night of the June 9 Bull Ride costs $24.00 additional, even if not attending the event, and covers the Bull Ride gate fee for two adults. If more than two persons are with the camping party, additional admission charges will apply. The $24.00 does not apply if you have a Prairie Village season pass or if Bull Ride admission is paid at the event gate. All electrical camp sites for the 55th Annual Steam Threshing Jamboree (August 24-27, 2017) have been reserved, but you may contact us to be placed on a standby list. We accommodate all additional campers if they desire to camp without electricity (dry lot). No reservations are required for the dry lot area, and generators are welcome in that area only. Upon arrival at the Jamboree vehicle gate, dry lot campers will be checked in and directed to a non-electrical camping area. During last year’s Jamboree, 210 campers took advantage of this opportunity.
Jamboree camping is now sold as a single package, regardless how many nights you wish to stay. Paid and confirmed Jamboree campers may move their campers to the grounds (and may occupy them) any time beginning at 8:00 am Saturday, August 19, 2017 (again, dry lot campers need not reserve or pay prior to arriving at the gate beginning Aug 19). All campers must be removed no later than 9:00 pm Monday, August 28, 2017. If you wish to bring your camper prior to August 19, the regular season camping rates will apply for each day prior to August 19 the camper is on site. For electrical campers, this will only be granted if confirmed in advance by camping reservation staff that the site isn’t already reserved by the general public. Electrical or dry lot campers moved in prior to the 19th without payment and approval may be removed from the site and that individual may not be offered future Jamboree camping.
