Prairie School

The Prairie School House

The school holds desks to accommodate children of grade levels 1st to 8th. Children would learn together under the instruction of one teacher. Presently the school is in session during the May school tours program and at the annual Steam Threshing Jamboree under the direction of the Delta Kappa Gamma Members.
School houses on the Prairie were vital to the community. They not only served as the learning community but held social events, community gatherings and meetings. Another less known fact is that in early communities they would also serve as a place of worship and Bible study to the local area people.
